Summer is around the corner, which means that you need to start getting ready for it! From wild beach parties to dipping in the pool, summer comes with a lot of fun, joy, and happiness. However, that is not the only thing summer brings. During the hot days, many people take time out from their busy schedules to tan their skin by either laying in the sun or going to an indoor tanning salon. While most of them want to make their skin glow and get bronzed up, sometimes they end up with a lot more than they bargained for! Yes, you guessed it right They end up getting a sunburn. Sunburn can be mild or it can be severe. In either case, it has seriously damaging effects if it’s not dealt with properly and carefully. So here are some of the ways in which you can treat your sunburn.

1. Drink Water

When you are dealing with a sunburn, you need to make sure you are doing everything you can to refresh and regenerate your skin as soon as possible. Oftentimes, water is recommended for fresh-looking skin because it helps in keeping the skin hydrated. When sunburn happens, your skin loses a lot of water, which means you have to drink a lot of water during this time in order to fill the gap.

2. Say No To Makeup

You might be thinking about hiding your sunburn by using a full coverage foundation. But stop! This will only make the matter worse. When you apply makeup, it doesn’t magically blend into your skin. In fact, it sits on top of your skin all the while collecting dirt and bacteria and even clogging your pores. Hence, the last thing you should apply to your skin when you have sunburn is makeup. If your skin doesn’t receive the oxygen it desperately needs in this situation, it won’t be able to continue the regeneration process.

3. Leave Your Blisters Alone

If your skin develops blisters after a severe sunburn, it is a sign that your skin was exposed for a long time in the sun. However, doctors recommend strictly not touching or poking your blisters as it could lead to scarring or discoloration.
